These types of minerals do not contain metals. They break when hit and break into pieces. These are usually found in the sedimentary rocks. Such as limestone, dolomite, mica, gypsum etc. It can be divided into two parts-
The basic characteristic of non-metallic minerals is that they do not yield new products on melting. These are generally associated with sedimentary rocks. E.g. granite, sandstone, etc.
